People of east Delhi continue to suffer due to power outages. Most tripping was recorded at Sonia Vihar.
However, the officials mentioned that due to unauthorised construction beneath the 220 KV Mandola-Wazirabad circuit, the conductor got damaged at Sonia Vihar causing the tripping. Last week, several parts of east Delhi experienced outages for over five hours due to heavy rains. However, discom officials clarified that the snag was caused due to tree branches falling on two 66KV cables supplying power to Mayur Vihar, Patparganj and neighbouring areas. On the other hand, the Badarpur Thermal Power Station (BTPS) link to Delhi Transco Limited&’s (DTL) Ghazipur 220 KV Grid broke down last Monday night in the Noida segment.  It is still under the maintenance of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited and will take another week to get restored.
