New Delhi, 11 July
Aam Admi Party volunteers today marched from Jantar Mantar towards Samajawadi Party chief, Mulayum Singh Yadav’s residence demanding a CBI inquiry into the murder of an MBBS student in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh last week.
Around 500 protesters marched from Jantar Mantar in the afternoon where they were stopped on the way. However, a few protesters and AAP leader Arvind Kejirwal, managed to reach the residence of the SP leader to seek a CBI probe into the murder of Neeraj Bhadana.
Bhadana, a first-year student of MBBS in Teerthanker Mahaveer University in Moradababd was on 6 July found dead near the girls’ hostel where she lived. Bhadana belonged to Faridabad.
Initially, the university authorities had termed her death an accident, claiming that she was sitting on the railing of the fifth floor of the hostel from where she fell.
But the postmortem report said no broken bone was found in her body and mentioned strangulation as the cause of death.  "We demand CBI to investigate into the matter. The girl was allegedly harassed by some students in the University which led to her death," the protesters claimed.
Meanwhile, a case of murder has been registered against unidentified people, and the crime branch of Moradabad is investigating the case.         sns
