North Delhi mayor Preety Agarwal has written a letter to Union Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Puri requesting him to direct Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to look into various issues hampering the development work.
Agarwal informed in her letter that DDA was demanding back a land in Idgah where a slaughter house was being run by North Corporation for a long time.
She further said that height of Gandhi Maidan parking and Idgah parking needed to be relaxed so that more commercial and parking spaces could be generated to earn greater revenue.
She exhorted that height restrictions in all parking lots under North Corporation jurisdiction be relaxed to address the issue of parking.
The mayor further demanded allotment of more land for construction of parkings.
She argued that land in resettlement colonies which were transferred to MCD in 1998 and have been with the MCD since 1998 should remain with the corporation.
She suggested, “Rajan Babu Institute of Pulmonary Medicine and Tuberculosis Institute has wide area of land which can be used for commercial purpose by the corporation for improving its financial condition if DDA changes its land use status.” written mayor in his letter to Union Urban Development Minister.
