On the day one admission of second cut off, some Delhi University colleges witnessed a different kind of rush with many students filling the cancellation form from the colleges in which they have already admitted themselves and taking admission in different colleges of their choice.
On the fear of not getting admission in DU, many students got themselves admitted in random colleges but now after the second list is out, some applicants have withdrawn from the previous colleges and went for their choice of colleges and course in a slightly lowered percentage.
Over 100 students first admitted in different courses in Kirori Mal College cancelled their enrolment for better options. Ramjas College, Shivaji College, Ram Lal Anand also witnessed such cancellations.
Meanwhile, according to SRCC officials, seven students have shifted from its B. Com (H) to B A in Economics programme. Deen Dayal Upadhaya College have already closed its admission for commerce but today around 20 students have ‘cancelled’ their admission from commerce, leaving few seats vacant.
According to officials, the college will reopen its admission for B. Com from Tuesday, with a minimum of 95 per cent.
Other subjects such as economics, English and science subjects, which are opened for students in second cut off are almost filled, said DDU principal.
Among Women’s college, Gargi experience withdrawal of 90 candidates on day one after the second cut off list was released on Monday.
"We have received 90 cancellation application today and most of the withdrawal are from commerce and economics subjects. We have returned their original documents and fee on the same day," Dr. Shashi Tyagi, principal of Gargi college said.
