Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari met the family of Ankit Saxena, the 23-year-old man who was killed in the national capital. Tiwari spoke to the family at their residence.

Ankit, a photographer by profession, was killed in Delhi’s Raghubir Nagar locality on Thursday allegedly by the family members of the woman he was in a relationship with.

According to Delhi Police, the woman’s family was against their relationship as they belonged to different communities and had told Ankit to end it.

The girl has accused her own family of killing Ankit. The police arrested the father, mother and uncle in connection to Ankit’s killing.

Ankit was beaten and stabbed in the neck. His mother reportedly saw the family members kill Ankit when she ran out of her home after being alerted that her son was being attacked.

The girl has said that she and Ankit planned to get married soon.

“I was going to meet him and then someone told me he had been stabbed with a knife. We were going to marry. He called me and told me he wanted to marry me, so we were meeting,” she told reporters.

Expressing his shock, Tiwari demanded stern action against the culprits. He also provided immediate medical assistance for Ankit’s grieving mother.

Tiwari alleged that the killing was “pre-planned”. Urging that communal angle shouldn’t be given to “organised crime”, Tiwari demanded a compensation for Rs 1 crore for the family because the deceased was the sole earning member.
