New Delhi, 30 October
Delhi Police has issued lookout notice at airports against the air-hostess who has been accused of brutalising her 13-year-old domestic help in Sarojini Nagar area of south Delhi as she is yet to be arrested or join investigation.
The victim’s statement under section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code was also recorded today.
According to police, the employer of the rescued help, identified as Bira Thoibi, has not landed in the Capital from abroad. Police expect her arrival by Wednesday mid-night or Thursday morning.
Investigating officers have also failed to trace Thoibi as they have no information about her apart from details provided by the rescued maid. "The accused will be arrested whenever she arrives in the country," a police officer said.
The victim has been sent to government shelter in Sangam Vihar by Lajpat Nagar Child Welfare Committee yesterday.
Her parents in Imphal city in Manipur have been informed, but they are yet to arrive in the capital.
The teenager was rescued from a two-bedroom house in Netaji Nagar C-Block on Monday and claims that she was regularly beaten up and kept locked in the house by Thoibi. She had been staying with Thoibi for the past two years.
