Today is the last day to apply for a flat under the Delhi Development Authority’s (DDA) ‘Special’ Housing Scheme. However, according to sources, the deadline may be extended.

The scheme was launched on December 24, last year, with 18,335 flats available. Affordable one-bedroom flats for lower-income groups (LIG) are offered at a price starting from Rs 14.1 lakh.

More than 8,000 of these apartments are in Narela, with the remaining at Rohini, Dwarka, Siraspur, Ramgarh, Lok Nayak Puram, and other locations.

Meanwhile, the registration fee for EWS flats is Rs 25,000, LIG flats is Rs 1 lakh, middle-income groups (MIG) and higher-income groups (HIG) flats is Rs 2 lakh. The deadline to apply for the scheme is on Monday.

However, the number of applicants for the scheme has not been identified yet. A senior DDA official said that on Monday, the final assessment will be made and if they feel, they might extend the application time. One needs to visit the DDA website for applying to the scheme.

The costing policy of the flats has been relaxed because many flats remained unsold in the previous housing scheme that was started. The whole process is being done online to ensure hassle-free allotment of flats. The allottee will simply need to go to the DDA office to complete the conveyance deed.

DDA had previously launched a housing proposal with 1,354 apartments in 2021. Flats returned in earlier housing plans in 2014, 2017, 2019, and 2021 are included in the special program.

Many DDA properties are under development, including luxury three-bedroom flats and penthouses in Dwarka, but they will be available in future housing plans, according to an official.
