The 11-year-old son of a central Delhi-based businessman, who was allegedly abducted from near his Patel Nagar residence on Saturday evening, was left near the same place by the kidnappers in the wee hours of Sunday.

It was not clear whether the abductors were paid a ransom as they had demanded Rs 30 lakh for the safe release of the boy. The police, however, claimed that the child was returned due to their relentless pressure.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Paramaditya said the accused have been identified and shall soon be arrested, without disclosing their names.

The abduction came to light on Saturday evening when the 11-year-old boy did not return home after playing cricket with his friends in a nearby park. The boy’s family received the first ransom call around?9 pm.

The businessman, who deals in construction materials and has a shop in Karol Bagh, informed the matter to the police and more than a dozen teams were pressed into service to rescue of the boy.

Meanwhile, the abductors called him again from a different mobile number. When the numbers were verified, it emerged that both the phones were reported to be stolen.

One of the numbers was soon tracked to be present near Dhaula Kuan and police teams were rushed there immediately.

However, the accused had fled. Around?5.15 am on Sunday, the boy returned home after the kidnappers dropped him in front of a hotel near his Patel Nagar residence.

The boy told police that when he was heading home on Saturday?evening, a few men got hold of him and forced him into a Toyota Innova car.
