As the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government completed its three years in office in Delhi, its top leader and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday made a strong pitch against divisive politics, maintaining that the people will have to collectively stand against this scourge in the country.

Kejriwal was participating in an interactive session at a function organised by the AAP government on the completion of its three years.

Kejriwal and his Cabinet were present there. They also answered people’s questions ~ posed to them via phone, emails, and social media like Facebook and Twitter ~ on the occasion.

The Delhi CM said certain elements have been trying to divide the country in the name of religion or caste etc, which he called a “worriying situation for all”.

He said the people could no longer sit at home and that they will have to collectively stand against divisive politics now.

“Nafrat ka jawab nafrat nahi hai (hatred can’t be defeated by hatred), only love will conquer the world,” the AAP leader asserted while answering a girl student’s question.

Addressing the gathering there, Kejriwal charged that Delhi was becoming a “victim of dirty politics”, even as he accused the BJP-ruled Centre of allegedly creating “hurdles” in Delhi’s development.

He also rued the point that several Bills passed by the Delhi Assembly have been pending with the Centre for a long time.

“Put all our Ministers and MLAs in jail, but clear all files. Don’t bother the people of Delhi,” Kejriwal told the Centre.

Kejriwal, his entire Cabinet, the Delhi Assembly Speaker along with senior state government officials participated in this function organised at the NDMC Convention Centre. Many AAP legislators were also present.

To mark the occasion, the AAP also released a song titled “Teen Saal Kejriwal” in a bid to highlight its government’s “accomplishments”. The song, penned by party leader Dilip Kumar Pandey, has been sung by Vishal Dadlani.
