Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday asserted that the INDIA alliance would win all the seven parliamentary seats in Delhi in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The statement from Kejriwal came a day after the AAP and Congress announced their seat-sharing arrangement for national capital and other states for the general elections.
In his first reaction to the alliance between the two parties in a post on X, he wrote, “INDIA alliance will win all the seven seats in Delhi.”
In an apparent reference to the works done by his government, the chief minister said, “We work for the development and progress of Delhiites.”
Attacking the BJP, Kejriwal said, “BJP people are busy in ruining Delhi, they are busy in making Delhiites unhappy.”
Of the seven parliamentary constituencies in Delhi, the AAP will contest in New Delhi, West Delhi, South Delhi, and East Delhi seats, while Congress in Chandni Chowk, North East, and North West seats as per the parties.
It may be mentioned that both parties have been holding parleys since the formation of the INDIA bloc to take on the BJP in the general elections.
Earlier, Delhi Congress president Arvinder Singh Lovely exuded confidence that the INDIA alliance will sweep all the seven parliamentary seats.
He also said the Congress and AAP workers will spare no effort to win all the seven seats in Delhi.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress and AAP drew a blank.
