NEW DELHI, 22 SEPT: The second edition of the country’s largest professional B2B annual tradeshow for gems and jewellery industry has kicked off today at Pargati Maidan. Organised by UBM India, the motive of the three-day fair is to provide a business platform to the jewellery industry in which wholesalers, retailers, importers and exporters, jewellery manufacturers, diamond suppliers and traders participate.
"India has a well established and growing reputation as one of the world’s leading manufacturers of fine jewellery, diamonds and gemstones. Therefore, this is being the fastest growing sector acts as an important contributor to the Indian economy," said Mr Ram Avtar Verma, president of the Bullion and Jewellers Association.
Leading jewellers from Haryana, Amritsar and Lucknow use this opportunity to showcase their finest designs and craftsmanship with launches in the Natts and uncut diamonds.
"Total market of jewellery in India is close to $90 billion, which includes both the domestic, retail and trade segments. The event is surely going to build relationships with major Indian and international buyers," Mr Yogesh Singhal, general secretary of The Bullion And Jewellers Association told reporters at a press conference.
Over 150 exhibitors from almost 100 cities across 10 states are participating in the fair.
More than 8000 trade buyers are expected to be on board over the three days.
