Hundreds of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers on Thursday protested outside Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal&’s residence here in the national capital demadning the expulsion of MLA sandeep Kumar from the Delhi assembly after he appeared in an alleged sex tape.
Holding party flags and raising slogans against Kejriwal and Kumar, the protesters led by Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay gathered outside the CM&’s house and demanded the expulsion of the former minister from the Delhi Legislative Assembly.
As some of the protesters tried to break the barriers put outside Kejriwal&’s residence, the police used water cannons to disperse the crowd.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday removed Delhi Social Welfare Minister Sandeep Kumar, saying he had received an "objectionable" CD on him and there cannot be any compromise with propriety in public life.
Earlier in the day, 36-year-old legislator from Sultanpur Majra, Kumar claimed that the man in the alleged sex tape was not him and that he was being targeted because he was a Dalit.
Kumar is the third minister who has been removed or forced out of the cabinet by Kejriwal since the formation of the government in February 2015.
