A 35-year-old man was murdered by a group of five unidentified persons on Wednesday late evening in Seelampur area of North-East Delhi.
The victim, brother of ex-municipal councillor, was a scrap dealer who was mercilessly shot by the five. The accused are absconding.
According to the Police, the victim Saleem alias Bobby, son of Mohammad Ali, resident of J-94 New Seelampur, was shot by few unidentified people who forcibly entered the victim’ house.
The incident took place at around 9:15 pm on Wednesday when the victim was in his home with his family. Five men barged into his house and started firing at Saleem. The incident was reported to police and the victim was rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur hospital where he was declared brought dead.
‘On preliminary investigation we found that there was some personal enmity between Saleem and those men. But we cannot say what exactly was the reason behind this brutal attempt’, said the police.
The victim was the brother of Razia Sultan, ex-Municipal counselor , and many criminal cases have been registered against him. He was recently released from jail.
Three live cartridges were found from the room where the incident took place.
"A case has been registered under section 302 (Punishment for murder) under IPC (Indian Penal Code) in New Seelampur police station and we are still probing the matter," added the police.
