In order to restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview to enable the selection committee to have a comprehensive assessment of the candidates, Delhi University today issued guidelines for shortlisting candidates for appointment of teaching posts.
According to the notification, all the applications received for the teaching posts shall be screened on the basis of the academic and other credentials of the candidates before called for the interview.
According to university officials, for the post of assistant professor, the criteria for evaluation of the candidates determining their eligibility be on based on a 100 point scale to be judged on academic qualifications, research and teaching experience.
Meanwhile, the Delhi University Teachers’ Association has been opposing the screening system and demand that all adhoc teachers be invited for the interview in the permanent appointment.
