After taking over the operations of Airport Express line, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) today claimed a ridership of 10,300 people on 1 July. Other lines of metro also witnessed highest ridership on Monday. According to DMRC, on 1 July, a record number of commuters travelled in metro trains. “The Delhi Metro recorded the highest-ever ridership of 23,62,279 on July 1, which surpassed the earlier record set on June 18, when 23,32,298 people travelled by the metro,” said the DMRC spokesperson. In addition, the highest footfall was recorded on Lines 3 and 4 between Dwarka Sec-21 to Noida City Centre and Vaishali with 9.25 lakh commuters using the train to reach their destination.
