DJ stabs man to death at Delhi’s Punjabi Bagh bar

In a shocking incident, a young man was killed after an argument with the DJ over a song request turned ugly on Sunday night.

The incident took place at a bar in West Delhi’s Punjabi Bagh when the 28-year-old man, celebrating a birthday party, broke into a brawl allegedly with the DJ. Following the argument, he was reportedly stabbed to death.

At around midnight in a restaurant at club road, the incident took place between a group comprising nine persons and restaurant staff over playing of a song, Vijay Kumar, deputy commissioner of police (West), said.

According to reports, the victim, Vijaydeep asked the DJ, Deepak Bisht, to change the song. Bisht (25) reportedly refused, which led to the scuffle.

Vijaydeep, a gym instructor, was attacked by Deepak and received stab wounds, he added.

Prime accused Deepak, who is from from Uttarakhand and lives in Burari, has been arrested by the Delhi police and a case has also been registered.

As the fight broke out, chairs were flung and beer bottles were smashed, according to some witnesses.

The investigation in the matter has been launched as the police seized CCTV footage from the crime scene and also the weapon used to kill Vijaydeep.
