A 28-member team of Delhi discom engineers and technicians have reached Uttarakhand to help in the ongoing relief and restoration work. The Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL) team is working jointly with Uttaranchal Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) for restoration work of 33KV and 11KV lines at Uttarkashi and Ukhimath in Rudraprayag district and Joshimath and Narainbagar in Chamoli district.
The team, divided into four groups, is working simultaneously for conductor stringing and pole erection work which is spread out over an approximate distance of  30KM for 33KV line and approximately 76KM for 11KV line. TPDDL&’s senior systems managers have also accompanied the team and are coordinating work with UPCL head office through their director-operations, based at Dehradun.
“Our team is working closely with the state government, UPCL and core Tata Group team comprising Tata Relief Committee and Sir Ratan Tata Trust officials. I urge everyone to extend support to the beleaguered state in their personal capacity by volunteering for ground work and by contributing generously to the Sir Ratan Tata Trust, Tata Relief Committee, TCCI and the CM&’s Relief Fund,” said Mr. Praveer Sinha, CEO&ED, TPDDL.
The hill state recently witnessed one of the most terrible natural disasters of recent times. The maximum damage happened in terms of casualties and destruction of houses, roads, bridges and power & communication networks.
