Northeast monsoon to hit TN by October 17: IMD
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) announced that the Northeast Monsoon is expected to begin by the third week of October, more precisely on October 17.

The Delhi weather over the last couple of days has made commuting a difficult task. Incessant overnight rains lashed the city and its adjoining areas affecting the morning traffic on Friday. The city continued to experience moderate and scattered showers in the morning too with the weather department saying the National Capital Region (NCR) will receive one or two spells of heavy rain during the day.
“Delhi received 45.8 mm of rain in the last 24 hours,” said an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official. At 8.30 am, the humidity was recorded at 98 per cent.
Waterlogging in several parts of the city led to congestion on both arterial roads and service lanes. The Delhi Traffic Police tweeted out all the bottlenecks to keep the morning commuters abreast with the situation.

There was heavy traffic on the Ghazipur Murga Mandi and Mayur Vihar Phase 2 route. Besides, the Badarpur-Mehrauli route was affected due to waterlogging in the Badarpur railway crossing underpass.
With part of the road caving in on Thursday, the traffic towards Noida from Jasola faced heavy congestion. The Delhi Noida Direct flyway also experienced huge congestion.
Traffic on the Badarpur-Ashram route, road above Loni, Apsara Border, Vivek Vihar ITI Underpass, Kasturba Nagar Underpass and Seemapuri underpass were all congested.
The Delhi Traffic Police requested commuters to avoid all these stretches.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 25.2 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season’s average. The Delhi weather is likely to remain similar for the rest of the day as the Met department has predicted mostly cloudy sky. The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 28 degrees Celsius.
On Thursday, the maximum temperature settled at 28.7 degrees Celsius, six notches below season’s average, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 26 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season’s average following heavy rains.
