Delhi: Schools running in general, morning shift to remain closed on Jan 22

The Directorate of Education (DoE) of Delhi government on Sunday said that all government and its aided schools running in general and morning shift will remain closed on Monday on the occasion of Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya.

However, the schools running in the evening shift will remain open.

In an order, the DoE on Sunday said: “In accordance with the Office Memorandum dated 20.01.2024 issued by the Services Department of GNCTD declaring half day closure (upto 02:30pm) of all Delhi government establishments on January 22 to enable the employees to participate in the celebrations of Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha being held at Ayodhya, all Government and Government aided schools of Delhi running in general and morning shift are ordered to remain closed on January 22.”

“However, all Government and Government aided schools running in evening shift shall start at 02:30 p.m. on January 22 and will be off as per their usual timings but not later than 05:30 p.m,” it said.

This arrangement is only for January 22, it added.

Notably, all offices of the Delhi government will also remain closed for half a day on January 22 .

L-G VK Saxena has approved the half-day closing (till 2.30 pm) of all Delhi Government offices, urban local bodies, autonomous bodies, undertakings and boards on January 22 due to the auspicious occasion.
