A day after heavy downpour, Delhi on Thursday recorded cleanest air of the year, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) dropping to 59, the lowest so far in 2025, according to the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM).
Citing the data of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), CAQM posted on X, “Delhi remains in the ‘Satisfactory’ category for a continuous 15 days and recorded the lowest AQI of the year today i.e., 59 at 4:00 PM (Average of past 24 hours).”
While the citywide average AQI stood at 59—marking the 15th consecutive day of ‘Satisfactory’ air quality—readings at Delhi’s 13 pollution hotspots fell into the ‘Good’ category. Vivek Vihar recorded the cleanest air with an AQI of just 35, followed by Dwarka (40), Jahangirpuri (47), Punjabi Bagh (48), and Rohini (50).
