Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today inaugurated 66kv Grid Substation at Rohini as she claimed that in future Delhi will not face power outage.
Power minister, Haroon Yusuf  who was also present in the inauguration ceremony said the new grid is equipped with next generation distribution technologies.
"It has been constructed keeping in mind the present and future area and also to take care of any unforeseen eventuality. It will provide uninterrupted power to around one lakh consumers.
The better power reliability will also fuel the overall growth of Rohini and its adjoining CEO of Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL),
Mr. Praveer Sinha  said that the focus has been on customers’ convenience and in next 20 years Delhi will not face any shortage of power supply.
Meanwhile, the residents there also expressed happiness over the developmental work.
"The power grid is gift for us. Earlier this place was like a forest as there was no light but now we are hopefulthat things will change soon," said Rohit, a resident. The programme was also attended by Surendra Kumar, MLA from Bawana constituency area.
