New Delhi, 7 February
Condemning the Delhi chief minister and his colleagues for their attempts to violate the sanctity of constitution and disrespecting Parliament, the Delhi BJP President Mr Vijay Goel said, "This government is pushing Jan Lokpal deliberately in an unconstitutional manner, showing that AAP favours anarchy and pays scant regard to the constitutional authorities."
Adding further Mr Goel said that there is already a Lokayukta in Delhi and a Lokpal bill has been passed by Parliament. There is no need for the AAP govt to push for Janlokpal bill. Instead, it should focus on strengthening the existing Lokayukta for which there is enough scope and need. This would help to curb the corruption effectively.
Mr Goel said, he also met with the Bar Council of Delhi today on the issue of cancellation of Somnath Bharati’s licensee. The next date for the hearing has been fixed for March 7.
He also termed the move to register an FIR in CWG corruption as an eyewash as no Congress leader has been named in the FIR.
He also demanded that AAP should come out openly and let the people know its action plan to handle the power crisis in the capital.
Talking about power crisis Mr Goel said, “There is complete non-transparency in the way AAP government is handling power crisis. There seems to be no backup plan with the government for handling the immediate power crisis. We are warning the CM and its ministers that it should immediately come out with its action plan on power sector”.
On the issue of corruption also, the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal continues to protect the corrupt. “The BJP had handed over the evidence of involvement of Congress leaders in the CWG scams. It has been consistently demanding registering of cases against former Chief Minister Smt Sheila Dikshit and other Congress ministers and leaders for the widespread corruption in CWG games. But it is surprising that AAP government has not named even a single Congress leader in the FIR,” said Mr Goel.
