Delhi Traffic Police announced on Wednesday that Rajendra Prasad Road will be restricted to one-way traffic to reduce congestion and ensure smoother vehicle movement.
As per an order issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Shive Keshari Singh, the traffic on the stretch from Jaswant Singh roundabout to the Rajendra Prasad Road–Janpath Road roundabout will now be allowed in only one direction for all categories of motor vehicles.
The directive, issued under Regulation 21 of the Delhi Control of Vehicular and Other Traffic on Roads and Streets Regulations, 1980, has taken immediate effect and will stay in force until further orders.
“The move was necessitated due to heavy traffic flow that was causing obstruction and inconvenience to commuters. The concerned road-owning agencies have been instructed to put up mandatory signboards to inform and guide motorists,” the DCP said.
