Delhi students rescued from jungle in Kullu after 3 days

Police said the students, identified as Ayesha Mishra and Kalol Mukherjee were on the way to Kasol from Manali in Kullu district but they lost their way due to inclement weather conditions.

Two students of Fine Arts College in Delhi were on Tuesday rescued from Chanderkhani area of Kullu district where they were stranded from the last three days.

Police said the students, identified as Ayesha Mishra and Kalol Mukherjee were on the way to Kasol from Manali in Kullu district but they lost their way due to inclement weather conditions.

The duo got stuck in a jungle in Chanderkhani area on 1 June and they decided stay put at their location.

“The students contacted local police as they could not find way to Kasol after which a rescue party was rushed to the spot to bring them to safety,” police said.

The police party, along with local trekkers, located them on Tuesday and brought them to Kullu where a health checkup was conducted on the duo. They were found in a healthy condition as luckily, both of them had tent and food items that helped them in surviving the tough conditions in the forest, police added.

Ayesha Mishra (22) is a resident of Delhi while Kalol Mukherjee is a native of West Bengal and they are final year students of Fine Arts College in Delhi.
