Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta said the presence of 110 young participants from Jammu and Kashmir in the House marks a meaningful initiative to connect the country’s youth with the functioning of democratic institutions.
The young Kashmiri delegation was on a visit to the Delhi assembly on Wednesday under the Kashmir Youth Exchange Programme.
In his address to the house, Gupta said it serves as a reminder that as members, they need to uphold dignity, discipline, and a sense of responsibility in their conduct.
The Delhi Assembly welcomed the students from Anantnag, Budgam, Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora, Srinagar, and Pulwama districts under the KYEP 2025-26, an initiative of the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in collaboration with MY Bharat.
A documentary film on Veer Vitthal Bhai Patel, featuring a voiceover by renowned actor Anupam Kher, was screened in the House, offering the visiting students a nuanced understanding of his enduring contribution to India’s parliamentary legacy.
Addressing the students, the Speaker aapprised them of the functioning, history, and institutional significance of the Delhi Vidhan Sabha and engaged with them in a thoughtful interaction over democratic processes and legislative responsibilities. He observed that such initiatives deepen the connection between institutions and young citizens by allowing them to experience governance.
