Ahead of Diwali, the Delhi Police have implemented a comprehensive, multi-tiered security plan across the national capital to ensure residents can celebrate safely, an official statement said.
Enhanced security arrangements have been made at major markets, busy public areas, and commercial centres with heavy footfall.
The Delhi Police have deployed adequate personnel in all districts, supported by the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), to strengthen ground-level security.
To manage the anticipated surge in traffic during the festive season, the Delhi Traffic Police have deployed additional personnel to regulate vehicular movement, ensure pedestrian safety, and facilitate smooth traffic flow.
Regular traffic advisories are being issued to inform the public about restrictions, diversions, designated parking areas, and essential commuting guidelines.
Authorities have urged citizens to adhere to traffic rules, follow official instructions, use public transport, and limit the use of personal vehicles whenever possible.
Police officers are conducting foot patrols across all districts to ensure public safety and maintain law and order. The increased presence is intended to deter potential offenders and prevent crimes in crowded areas.
Additionally, anti-sabotage inspections are being carried out at crowded markets, railway stations, and interstate bus terminals, with the assistance of Bomb Disposal (BD) units and Dog Squads.
To manage crowd movement, the Delhi Police, in collaboration with market associations, have erected temporary watchtowers (machans) and installed public address systems to alert and advise the public to remain vigilant during festive celebrations.
Additional DCP Rishi Kumar Singh, ACP Karol Bagh, the SHO of Karol Bagh, and other police personnel conducted foot patrols in the area ahead of the festive season. On-site security arrangements were reviewed, and essential instructions were issued to ensure public safety.
