Delhi likely to witness thunderstorm, gusty winds and rains again today

People in Delhi woke up to a cloudy morning on Wednesday, after parts of the national capital witnessed dust storm coupled with light rains on Tuesday night.

According to the meteorological (Met) department, light rains can be expected in some areas of the city later in the day, accompanied by thunderstorm and gusty winds.

Other than Delhi, isolated rain and thundershowers may occur along with strong gusty winds over Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan and also foothills of Uttar Pradesh today, according to Skymet Weather.

Earlier today, the minimum temperature was recorded at 22.4 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season’s average. The humidity level recorded at 8.30 am in the city was 55 per cent.

According to the Safdarjung observatory, there were traces of rain in the last 24 hours.

On Tuesday, the maximum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 34.7 degrees Celsius, while the minimum stood at 22 degrees Celsius.

As per the Met report, heavy rains are likely hit some places in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

In South, states like Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Puducherry, Kerala and Lakshadweep are likely to face heavy rains.
