Delhi: Lift’s free fall from second floor at AIIMS leaves 5 injured

Around five people were injured on Saturday after a lift near the office of the medical superintendent at the New Delhi’s AIIMS hospital came down crashing from the second floor. The incident occurred around 11.45 am.

An AIIMS official said that the lift fell down from second floor due to some technical fault and has been closed down for repair.

“There were five persons including the lift operator inside. They have suffered minor injuries and were given medical aid immediately at the hospital. All of them are stable,” the official said.

According to a senior police official, two persons are suspected to have suffered fractures.
