Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday inaugurated a newly constructed ‘Chaupal’ in the Ghonda Assembly constituency in a bid to foster direct dialogue with citizens and bridge the gap between the government and the public.

Speaking at the event, Gupta stated that the concept of ‘Chaupal’ is deeply rooted in Indian tradition — a space not only for dialogue but also for finding collective solutions. “Chaupal in a metropolis like Delhi sends a powerful message that even in the race for rapid development, we remain connected to our cultural roots,” she stated while inaugurating the new platform for public discourse.

Highlighting the importance of such platforms in today’s digital age, the Chief Minister said that as governance becomes increasingly modern and digital, physical forums like these are even more essential to connect directly with people and hear their concerns. She appreciated MLA Ajay Mahawar’s commitment to fostering public dialogue and prioritising development in his constituency.

The Chief Minister was joined by Member of Parliament Manoj Tiwari, Delhi Cabinet Minister Kapil Mishra, MLA Ajay Mahawar, along with a large number of local residents, public representatives, officials, and social workers for the event.
