A 16-year-old boy was killed after being stabbed in northeast Delhi’s Dayalpur area on Wednesday night. Police said three minors have been taken into custody in connection with the case.
The killing has raised questions about what led to the attack. Police said the boys, aged between 13 and 17, told investigators that the victim had been bullying one of them. The claim is now part of the ongoing probe.
According to officials, the injured teenager was found lying unconscious in Gali No 13, Nehru Vihar. He was rushed to JPC Hospital, but doctors declared him dead. His body was later sent to GTB Hospital for a post-mortem.
A case has been registered at Dayalpur police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The three Children in Conflict with Law (CCLs) were apprehended soon after the incident. Police also said a knife believed to be used in the crime was recovered based on their inputs.
A forensic team examined the scene and collected evidence. A team led by Station House Officer Inspector Paramveer Dahiya identified the victim as Subhan Malik. Further investigation is underway.
Father seeks justice, says son had no enemies
The boy’s father, Dilshad Malik, said his son had left home around 8 pm, and the family was informed hours later that he had been stabbed and taken to the hospital.
“He was my son, Subhan Malik. He was stabbed to death by 3-4 boys. He had left our home at 8 pm. We came to know at 11-11.30 pm that he had been stabbed and that the Police had rushed him to the hospital…We demand justice for my son. The accused should be given stringent punishment,” he said.
Malik added that his son was a Hafiz-e-Quran and had no known disputes.
“My son was murdered. Had they beaten him up, I would have forgiven them. But this cannot be forgiven; he has been killed. My son was Hafiz-e-Quran. He had no enmity with anyone…I don’t know under what excuse they called my son out of our house.”
