A 40-year-old criminal associated with Madhya Pradesh’s Pardi gang has been arrested by the Delhi Police Crime Branch from Ludhiana, Punjab, officials said on Friday.
According to the police, the accused, identified as Mohan Pardi, had been absconding since 2024 and was wanted in five heinous cases, including murder, attempted murder, and robbery.
“Mohan, a resident of Bilakhedi village in Guna district, was wanted in multiple serious cases registered in Madhya Pradesh, including FIRs for murder, attempted murder, culpable homicide, robbery, and burglary,” said Harsh Indora, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime).
He added that the Madhya Pradesh Police had announced a reward of ₹12,000 for information leading to Mohan’s arrest.
“The operation was launched after a nighttime house burglary on September 17 in Delhi’s Neb Sarai area indicated the involvement of the Pardi gang,” the officer said.
Acting on this information, a specialized team from the WR-II Crime Branch tracked the accused to Ludhiana through a combination of manual surveillance and technical intelligence.
After several days of monitoring, Mohan was apprehended on September 30 with the assistance of local police and brought to Delhi for interrogation.
While he was not found involved in any recent crimes in Delhi, Mohan’s criminal record includes five major cases registered in Madhya Pradesh. He has since been handed over to the Guna Police for further legal action, DCP Indora said.
Mohan is part of a notorious tribal criminal network known for organized house robberies that often turn violent.
“Their modus operandi involves targeting homes at night, attacking residents with blunt weapons, and looting valuables before swiftly shifting locations to evade arrest,” the officer added.
