Continuing with the element of surprise of her governance model, Rekha Gupta on Friday conducted an impromptu inspection of the Rajkiya Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in the Rup Nagar area in Delhi. The chief minister has adopted the approach as it gives her a strategic advantage in ensuring the accountability of her administration.

During her visit to the school, Rekha Gupta directly engaged the students in their respective classrooms in an exhaustive interaction. During the interaction, she took stock of the functioning of the school, availability of drinking water, fire safety, sanitation apart from the academics.

She spoke to the teachers and the administrative staff of the school and sought a list of academic accomplishments and pending works.
The chief minister warned warned that negligence on the part of the teaching and administrative staff will be tolerated, especially when it comes to the maintaining safety and security of the students in the school and their basic facilities.

According to her, government schools in the national capital have been suffering due to mismanagement, dilapidated infrastructure, and dearth of basic facilities.
She assured that her government is working on war footing to ensure basic facilities in the government schools across the city by improving infrastructure and ensuring safe environment for the students.

The government has taken several steps to ensure better care for the students, the latest being the implementation of mandatory “water bell” system to protect the students from extreme heat with the ringing of a bell every 45 to 60 minutes as a reminder to drink water.
