Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday dedicated a new six-lane flyover between Nand Nagri and Gagan Cinema to the public in the Trans-Yamuna area. The project is expected to provide major relief to local residents by addressing persistent traffic congestion.
The Chief Minister said that lakhs of vehicles will be able to use the flyover daily, saving significant travel time. She added that the initiative is aimed at improving the lives of lakhs of families residing in the Trans-Yamuna region.
Sharing her thoughts on social media platform X, Gupta noted that the long-delayed project was completed within just seven months by the BJP government, calling it “a living example of momentum, resolve, and good governance.”
“Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government is moving swiftly towards the goal of a Viksit Delhi,” she said, describing the flyover as a step towards relief and a brighter future for the city.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by MP Manoj Tiwari, Cabinet Minister Parvesh Verma, Deputy Speaker of the Delhi Assembly and local MLA Mohan Singh Bisht, along with several other dignitaries.
Verma said the flyover will ease the daily commute for lakhs of people struggling with traffic woes.
He expressed gratitude to Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena, Chief Minister Gupta, and Environment Minister Manjinder Sirsa, stating that the project would not have been possible without their support.
The inauguration was part of the ongoing Seva Pakhwada (Service Fortnight), which began on September 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, reflecting his spirit of service to the nation.
