Registering their protest over Delhi chief secretary being allegedly manhandled by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs, the IAS offices in Haryana on Wednesday reached offices by putting black badges.

Even in a meeting with Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, all the administrative secretaries of the various departments and other IAS officers also reached by putting black badges to register their protest against the episode relating to alleged assault on Delhi chief secretary Anshu Prakash by AAP MLAs Amanatullah Khan and Prakash Jarwal at Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s residence on Monday night.

While interacting with the mediapersons, Haryana Additional chief secretary PK Das said, “The IAS officers of Haryana were protesting against the anguish at the dastardly behaviour meted to the Chief Secretary, Delhi.”

He said: “This behaviour is reprehensible and is surely a nadir in hooliganism by people in public office.

This is an action to muzzle frank opinion and to replace rule of law by a rule of opportunistic mob.” The IAS officers from Haryana have also sent a resolution to the Central IAS Association in this regard, he added.

After Delhi chief secretary Anshu Prakash accused AAP MLAs of assaulting him at chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence during an official meeting, the IAS officers from various states registered a protest and sought action against the lawmakers of AAP for the alleged hooliganism.
