Delhi boy Virat Kohli is a voter in Gorakhpur!

In a major mix-up, Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli, who is a resident of Delhi, has figured as a voter for the upcoming Gorakhpur Lok Sabha bypolls.

The voter list featured Kohli’s name and his picture as he has been named as a voter. Investigation in the matter has already been ordered.

The voter slip featured Kohli’s name under Sahajanwa Assembly segment and his voter number has been listed as 822.

According to media reports, booth-level officer Sunita Chaubey was the one who spotted the error. Sub-Divisional Magistrate Pankaj Srivastava has said that the mix-up is now being probed.

“The issue is very serious. SDM Sahjanwa has been asked in to submit a report in two days. Appropriate action will be taken against those found guilty,” Deputy election officer Prabhunath told reporters.

Bypolls in Gorakhpur and Phulpur are slated to take place on March 11, while the counting will be held on March 14.
