As the Rekha Gupta government gearing up for the Chhath festival with grand arrangements Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said on Wednesday that his party is turning what it promised during the assembly polls into a reality. He lauded the government’s plan to hold Chhath Puja at around 1,500 ghats, including those at the Yamuna banks.
“We will not rely solely on the Delhi government or the Municipal Corporation for the preparations and cleanliness. Under the leadership of our Purvanchal Morcha President, Santosh Ojha, our workers will conduct a massive cleanliness campaign at all natural and artificial ghats,” he assured.
Along with more than 1,000 ghats across the city, there will be around 23 large natural ghats on the Yamuna banks, marked for the Chhath festivities, the BJP leader added.
He said that the BJP-led government in the national capital has exposed the previous AAP government’s alleged unethical ban on worship at Yamuna banks.
While the state government is working with commitment to prepare for the Chhath, he said Delhi’s Mayor Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh and the MCD will ensure proper sanitation at different locations.
He shared that all the BJP MPs, MLAs, councilors, and the senior leaders would visit various ghats to ensure the success of the Chhath Puja celebrations organized by CM Gupta’s government.
