Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari in a press conference on Thursday hit out at AAP government on the issues of ‘minimum wage allowances, rising prices of petrol and diesel and party’s donation campaign ‘Aap Ka Dan Rastra Ka Nirman’ which was launched by Arvind Kejriwal earlier this week.

Tiwari said the condition of Delhi had become pathetic due to the obstinate attitude of Chief Minister. There has been 40 per cent decrease in the sale of petrol and diesel due to high prices. The reason is that the people of Delhi are purchasing fuel from neighboring states. This is adversely affecting the government exchequer. The Central Government refunds 42 per cent of the total revenue it collects through excise on petrol and diesel to Delhi government, he stated.

“Everyone is saying that Delhi is becoming a gas chamber. The National Green Tribunal has imposed a penalty of Rs 50 crore upon Delhi government for failing to prevent pollution. In Delhi, Euro-6 quality petrol is being sold but in other states, Euro-4 quality petrol is being sold. It will directly add to pollution in Delhi,” the Delhi BJP chief pointed out.

Tiwari also said that due to the increase in the prices of fuel, income of the government also increased. “Recently the Delhi government increased Rs 7 on petrol and diesel. “The people of Delhi want to know in whose account this additional Rs 7 is being deposited. Kejriwal gang is a specialist in Hawala transaction,” he alleged.

Tiwari further accused the Delhi government of playing drama over the issue of minimum wages of 24,000 workers saying that there are 60 lakh workers in Delhi. What will happen to them?

“Delhi BJP demands that the Government should form a committee within 20 days and minimum wages of 60 lakh workers should be fixed by Kejriwal government within a month,” said Tiwari.

He also stated that the Delhi Metro is the gift of Atal ji. Many other states have also started Metro services but the Chief Minister of Delhi is not giving approval to the phase IV of the Metro, which is the lifeline of the city.

“If the machinery hired for the phase IV goes back then Delhi will suffer a heavy loss of revenue. This shows that Kejriwal has an anarchist mindset,” alleged Tiwari.

Reacting to AAP’s request for donations, Tiwari quipped: “I promise to Kejriwal that I am ready to donate Rs 1,11,100 out of my personal earnings if you give approval to the phase IV of Metro in Delhi.”
