Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva on Thursday appreciated the government led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta for the launch of the projects worth Rs1,816 crore aimed at the cleaning of the Yamuna, strengthening of the sewer network and drinking water supply systems.
Eighty per cent of the projects unveiled by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday are aimed at the rejuvenation of the Yamuna.
Pointing out that the home minister had released a manifesto for the Delhi Assembly elections, the Delhi BJP chief said within eight months — between September 17 and October 9, during the Pradhan Mantri Seva Pakhwada — large-scale development and reform projects worth Rs 3,600 crore have been implemented, fulfilling its promise.
Sachdeva further said that the people of Delhi have seen how the previous Arvind Kejriwal government did nothing for river Yamuna’s cleaning. He alleged that the AAP government looted Delhi’s funds in the name of Yamuna cleaning from 2013 to 2024 besides a massive scam in the Delhi Jal Board.
Sachdeva said in contrast to what it was before, presently the public is witnessing the Rekha Gupta government earnestly working to fulfill the promise of Yamuna cleaning, sewage system improvement, and clean drinking water supply.
