Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva on Friday alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is trying to spread confusion over pollution in the city in an attempt to get the Supreme Court to revoke its decision allowing the use of green firecrackers.
Calling the alleged attempt by AAP leader Gopal Rai to mislead people on Delhi’s pollution through a press conference unfortunate, he said this has been AAP’s strategy for the past ten years. When it was in government, the AAP got a ban imposed even on the green firecrackers by misleading the people of Delhi during Diwali.
Furthermore, by not presenting accurate data in court, they misled the judiciary on the issue of pollution, the Delhi BJP chief alleged.
Sharpening his attack on the AAP, he further said now that the Supreme Court has allowed the use of green firecrackers in Delhi, AAP leaders are once again using pollution as an excuse to push for a ban on the green firecrackers.
The weather in Delhi is presently clear, and compared to the previous years, the pollution levels are also low. This year, there will be a harmony of culture and environment in Delhi, he added.
