Delhi BJP’s president Virendra Sachdeva and general secretary Kamaljeet Sehrawat have come out against the misinformation allegedly being spread by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) about the introduction of Pink Cards for women in Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses.
The BJP leaders appealed to the women of the national capital to remain cautious of such misinformation and to freely use their Pink Cards as per their convenience.
Sachdeva said it has come to notice that some people, at the instance of AAP leaders, are trying to mislead women into believing that once a Pink Card is tapped in a bus, it cannot be tapped again for the next one hour. Calling it a false propaganda unleashed by the rival party, he said the workers of party’s Mahila Morcha tested this by switching buses and successfully tapping the Pink Card three times within half an hour.
Hence, the Delhi BJP chief urged the women to freely travel anywhere in the city using Pink Cards or Pink Tickets in DTC’s modern e-buses as well as other buses.
Sachdeva stated that considering the time required to issue Pink Cards to lakhs of women, Pink Tickets will be made available to the commuters in the buses for the next few months.
He also shared that the DTC has also been instructed to facilitate Pink Card issuance amongst the women through the public representatives’ offices.
