Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta on Monday arrived in Bridgetown, Barbados, to attend the 68th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPC) 2025.
The conference, organised under the aegis of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), one of the oldest and most respected organisations in the Commonwealth, founded in 1911, will conclude on October 12.
Gupta will deliver his remarks during three key workshops of the conference: “Strengthening Our Institutions to Support Democracy,” “Climate Change and Its Threat to Global Health: Finding Sustainable Solutions,” and “National Parliaments vs Provincial, Territorial and Devolved Legislatures: Protecting and Preserving the Separation of Powers.”
These sessions are scheduled for October 8 and 9 and form part of the conference’s core agenda.
The participation of the Delhi Assembly Speaker at this significant global event reflects India’s deep-rooted democratic ethos and its commitment to strengthening the ideals of transparency, accountability, and participatory governance.
His presence at the 68th CPC reaffirms India’s vision of fostering dialogue, promoting inclusive growth, and building global partnerships rooted in shared democratic values and sustainable progress.
It also underscores the country’s steadfast commitment to democratic principles, cooperative federalism, and sustainable governance.
The deliberations during the conference aim to strengthen legislators’ capacity to address emerging challenges and reaffirm their commitment to cooperative and people-centric governance.
