Social Welfare Minister of Delhi Ravinder Indraj Singh on Thursday hoisted the national flag at Ravi Shankar Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya in North West Delhi’s Bawana, extending Independence Day greetings to the students, teachers, and parents in advance.

The minister honoured the girl students who excelled in academics, sports, and other activities while praising the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that nation’s daughters are bringing glory to the country, be it by protecting its borders, and to exploring space.

Indraj said both the President of India and the chief minister of Delhi are serving as inspiring examples of women’s empowerment, and urged the students to become self-reliant and play an active role in nation-building.

He also emphasised that women’s participation in India’s development journey is not only socially, but also economically essential. “When daughters progress, the nation will reach new heights in every field,” he added.

Citing inspirational examples, the minister said Kalpana Chawla rose from a small town to touch the heights of space, P.V. Sindhu brought India global recognition in the world of sports, and Captain Tania Shergill set a new milestone in military history by leading the Republic Day parade. “These examples show that with hard work, self-confidence, and determination, daughters can achieve success in every field,” he stated.

Encouraging the students, he said that “the daughters who dream and have the courage to realise those dreams become the true strength of the nation.”

Earlier, as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, Indraj hoisted the tri- color at his residence in Rohini, and paid tributes to the great heroes of the nation.
