China should shun old approach to India ties
It is a sad situation when two neighboring countries that have very strong reasons to be friends find strains in their relationship.
The Tibetan spiritual and temporal leader Dalai Lama on Tuesday stressed the need to promote the Bodhi language while interacting with the students at Lamdon Model School.
After completing two days of teaching sessions, the Dalai Lama visited the Model Public School (MPS), Padum, MantseKhang Zanskar Health Care Centre (HCC) and Lamdon Model High School (HS) Usti-Pipting.
During his visit to MantseKhangZanskar Health Care Centre, he stressed for ensuring cleanliness in and around the Centre. He also asked the management to work with utmost dedication and deliver their services promptly and honestly.

On the occasion, Muslim Association Zanskar also met the Dalai Lama. Emphasising on the practice of love, compassion and tolerance, the Dalai Lama said they represent the core values that set the foundation for making the world a peaceful place to live.
Kargil visit
Meanwhile, Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council, Hajji Anayat Ali along with the Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer, LAHDC Kargil, Vikas Kundal today inspected Hussaini Park, Kargil and took stock of the arrangements made by the district administration for forthcoming visit of the Dalai Lama to district Kargil.
The duo also visited Chhutuk Hotel to get an appraisal for the arrangements made for boarding and lodging for the Dalai Lama.
The Chairman directed the Municipal Committee Kargil to ensure cleanliness in and around the Sanitary Complex situated in the premises of the Hussaini Park.
