The Tibetan spiritual and temporal leader, Dalai Lama, is coming here on 18 March as the chief guest for the convocation of the Central University of Jammu (CUJ).
According to the Vice-Chancellor of CUJ, Prof Ashok Aima, this is the first convocation of the university that came into existence on 8 August 2011.
The CUJ came into focus last year when it was among the eleven universities of the country that were declared “non-performers” but Prof Aima with strenuous efforts succeeded in pulling the CUJ out of the taint.
Meanwhile, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will be the chief guest at the 17th convocation of the University of Jammu here on March 4.
As many as 185 candidates will be awarded degrees and 59 meritorious students will be given gold medals, said V-C RD Sharma.
The University of Jammu has been accredited as “A+” grade university by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) of India.
