The Delhi Police Crime Branch on Sunday said it has busted a drug syndicate and arrested two of its members for allegedly supplying heroin worth around Rs 30 lakh.
The police confirmed that 282 grams of heroin were recovered during the operation.
The accused have been identified as Firoz (22) and Sompal (26).
Acting on a tip-off, police arrested Firoz in the Shastri Park area when he arrived to meet an associate, officials said.
During interrogation, Firoz disclosed that he had been procuring heroin from suppliers in Uttar Pradesh and delivering it to buyers in Delhi. He also revealed the identity of his associate, Sompal, who sourced the narcotics from Bareilly.
Acting on this information, a police team conducted a raid in Bareilly on November 8 and apprehended Sompal. An additional 20 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
