The Patiala House Court on Saturday put Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on trial in a criminal defamation case filed against him by Union Minister Arun Jaitley in Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) matter.

The court also framed charges against Kejriwal and 5 other AAP leaders in the case after they were pleaded not guilty.

The next hearing in this matter will be held on May 20.

Finance Minister Jaitley had filed a defamation case against Kejriwal and other AAP leaders in 2015 and had sought Rs.10 crore damage from them for making false and defamatory statements in the DDCA case, defaming his name.

The AAP leaders had attacked Jaitley and his family members in various social platforms over alleged irregularities in the DDCA case of which he was the president for about 13 years.
