The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday accused the Congress party of ignoring the interests of horticulturists in Himachal Pradesh.

The state BJP chief spokesperson and Nahan MLA, Rajeev Bindal said that the Congress government announced several schemes for the welfare of farmers and horticulturalists but on ground, nothing has been done so far. “The government has even failed to implement schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi led NDA government, depriving them of benefits of Central schemes,” he said.

Bindal said Congress party had announced to provide unemployment allowance to the youth of the state but, had only made a provision of Rs 500 Crore for the same. “The government has not even spent a single penny on providing the allowance to the unemployed needy youth in the last four years. And now when the election is nearing in the state, the government is trying mislead youth by announcing the scheme with meager funds,” he said, adding the government should have made a provision of Rs 7,200 Crore for the same to implement it effectively.
