The budget session of the Madhya Pradesh State Assembly began here on Monday with Governor Anandiben Patel’s address to the house, which was interrupted at least five times by opposition Congress MLAs who alleged that the BJP state government is presenting false and fudged figures in the Governor’s address.

Earlier, Congress MLA from Rau in Indore, Jitu Patwari, reached Bhopal in the morning riding a bicycle for 200 kM for the ‘Kisan Adhikar (Farmers’ rights) Yatra’.

Patwari and the Congress are demanding complete waiver of loans of farmers, who have suffered very bad times and huge losses over the years.

Assembly Leader of opposition Ajay Singh, MP Congress president Arun Yadav and many other leaders and workers joined Patwari on cycles to ride up to the Assembly.

However, police stopped them at a distance and prevented them to ride to the Assembly gates. The Congress leaders then marched on foot to the Assembly. The House was adjourned till Tuesday after the Governor’s address.

On coming out of the House, Congress MLAs raised slogans for farmers’ demands and against the state government.
