Communal tension was sparked in  Sambhal town of western UP followed by arresting of owner of  a TV channel who had announced to offer the prayers at Harihar temple which according to him is inside the Jama masjid . Heavy police force has been deployed outside the mosque and a congress minority leader has also been arrested here for giving hate statement after the announcement of the channel owner.

Followed by the communal tension in Sambhal  heavy  PAC and police force  have been deployed to avert any untoward incident and  maintain peace and tranquility . " A joint march of police and PAC was also done on the streets of  the town to assure people and peace committees have been activated to maintain communal harmony ," told Omkar Singh, DIG of Moradabad Range.

Also a case was registered against three on Monday  including Suresh Chauhan, MD of TV Channel, Sanjay Sankhyadhar, who organised a debate on the channel on this issue and Ialso srat Hussain Babar on charges of spreading hatred in the society and evoking communal sentiments of the people, told Ravi Shankar Chhavi, SP Sambhal. The channel owner Chauhan was arrested in Lucknow on wednesday while Babar arrested in Sambhal. 

 The controversy started when Chauhan  made an announcement to offer Prayer in the Harihar temple on Tuesday which he claimed situated inside the city`s Jama Masjid.  Earlier a debate was also organised on this issue in his channel. His open announcement got him support of Various Hindu organisations also inviting sharp reaction from the minority. This led to the communal tension in the town and  Congress leader Israt Hussain Babar who is self acclaimed  Imam  gave a hate statement saying that the  supporters of Hindu organisations should be ready to face dire consequences.  Alarmed by this situation the officials taking swift action  immediately deployed forces and appealed people not to indulge in  any kind of anti communal activity.

A  case was also registered  against Babar, Chauhan and Sanjay  followed by which Owner of the TV channel was  arrested in Lucknow on wednesday and later police also produced the congress leader Israt Hussain Babar in the court on Wednesday evening who allegedly had announced for direct action against owner of TV channel and his supporters of Hindu organisations .
 
 Meanwhile DIG has appealed people to respect the law and should not indulge in any act which affects peace and communal harmony in the area.
