CM reiterates special love of Dalai Lama for Himachal

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Sunday said Himachal Pradesh was blessed as Dalai Lama had chosen the state as his second abode and it was due to his presence that Dharamshala has emerged as the world famous destination.

“Dalai Lama has special love for the state and its people,” he said while speaking on the occasion of Bharat Tibet Cooperation Manch meeting held at Mandi to commemorate 19 years of its formation.

Thakur said Bharat Tibet Cooperation Manch is doing a commendable service in providing an apt platform for deliberating on burning issue related to Tibet.

Thakur said under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi the country has emerged as the power, which the world community cannot ignore. “Himachal is known as Dev Bhoomi where people of different religions live with complete harmony and peace,” he said, adding as HP shares its border with China, it is essential that India also to strengthen its communication network near border.

He said the government has taken up the issue of construction of Bhanupalli-Bilspur-Leh Rail line which was of strategic importance.
